About Me!

Hiya! My name is Maddy Bean (she/her), and I am a digital artist and illustrator based in the Pacific Northwest. I was intitially a self-taught traditional artist that focused on watercolor painting and inking, but I transitioned to digital art in 2018, which is my prefered medium as of now. I have a BFA in Literary Studies as of 2022 from Washington State University with a minor in Fine Arts and Creative Writing, so a lot of my work has focuses in storytelling and has influences from various pieces of literature.

My art tends to center around fantasy and historical themes, as I have a personal and heavy love for those creative elements and genres. I spend a lot of time in the TTRPG online space, as well as take influence from works like Lord of the Rings, Castlevania, D&D, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the Dragon Age franchise, various medieval literature, mythology, etc. My love for all things fantastical, gothic, horror, and historical inspires much of my personal work.

Some of my recent projects include my painting “Cupid & Psyche”, which was published in Nova and Mali’s artbook, Classics But Make It Gay Vol. III (2023), and I’ve had a few more pieces published in online digital zines, including one in the project Ooh, Chic! for their 2024 edition. At the moment, I am open for private and commercial commission work and freelance, and I am currently prepping for my Artist Alley table at Spokane’s Lilac City Comic Con in June of 2025.
